Hillsboro Schools has always lent a helping hand whenever help has been needed.
This year specifically, Hillsboro Schools has been involved with many different events to help raise awareness for different illnesses. The Hillsboro FBLA sponsored and put together the 8th Annual Pack the Gym Night which raises awareness for Cystic Fibrosis. The event also helps raise money to find a cure for the chronic disease. The Girls Basketball team took part in an OCD Awareness night to help bring awareness for mental illness. The entire Hillsboro School District also took part in an “orange out” day in support of Madelyn Novacheck and her fight against Leukemia. T-Shirts were made for the day to raise money for Madelyn and her family.
Hillsboro Schools also had a huge community clean day up after historic flooding this last fall. Students helped by picking up garbage that the water collected and moved, and also helped residents that were affected by the flood.
