Important Information About Student Transportation

This webpage provides information on student transportation, including:

  • Eligibility: Students who qualify for district transportation will need to complete a transportation documentation as part of registration.

  • Bus Safety: For everyone's safety, students must be aware of and follow the School Bus Rules. These rules help ensure the driver can focus on safely transporting students.

School Bus Rules: Ride Safe, Ride Respectful!

Welcome aboard! To ensure a safe and enjoyable ride for everyone, please follow these important School Bus Rules:

  • Be On Time: The bus waits for no one! Please arrive at your bus stop a few minutes early to avoid missing the bus.

  • Seating:

    • Sit properly: Back to back, seat to seat, feet flat on the floor facing forward. Keep your hands and feet to yourself.

    • Designated areas: K-5 students sit in the front of the bus, while Middle and High School students sit in the back.

  • Respectful Behavior: Always act safely and follow the bus driver's instructions. This includes while boarding, riding, and getting off the bus.

  • Following Rules: Respect the authority of the bus driver and follow all their directions.

Consequences for not following the rules: Failure to follow these expectations may result in temporary or permanent removal from bus transportation. Seat assignments are at the discretion of the administration.

Bus Driver's Role: The bus driver is responsible for maintaining order and safety on the bus. Their authority extends to when students are in sight before boarding or getting off, as well as while traveling to and from school.

Discipline and Referrals: Students who consistently break the rules will be referred to the building principal through a progressive discipline system:

  • 1st Offense: Verbal Warning by the Bus Driver

  • 2nd Offense: Referral to the School Office

  • 3rd Offense: 3-Day Bus Suspension

  • 4th Offense: 1-Week Bus Suspension
