On April 25, students in fifth grade toured the capitol building, seeing the senate chamber, the state supreme court, and the governor's conference room.
They heard stories about the symbolism in the artwork portrayed in the rooms and the history of the capitol, learning that the current capitol building is actually the third to be built, and is now 106 years old.
Students were able to eat lunch in the basement of the capitol and then walk across the street to the Veterans Museum where wonderful guides explained the history of the U.S. and the state of Wisconsin in the different conflicts and wars. The students were amazed to see real artifacts from the wars and hear true stories of veterans from Wisconsin.
It was a great field trip with respectful students who followed the Tiger Way!
