Hillsboro High School music students had the privilege of having a virtual visit with acclaimed actor and singer Connor Sullivan on Thursday, April 11th. Connor is currently touring the country as Billy Flynn in the hit musical "Chicago."
During the session, Connor shared his journey from a homeschooled middle school student with doubts about his singing abilities, to discovering his musical passion and setting his sights on a career in the arts at the age of 16. He discussed his education, his time in smaller theaters, working with Disney, performing on cruise ships, and landing his current role on tour.
After delving into the intricacies of the performing arts, Connor discussed crucial attributes essential for success in any profession: passion, quick thinking and an ability to adapt, and playing to one's unique strengths. Students walked away with a few memorable quotes from Connor Sullivan, including, "Adaptability is the biggest super power you can have in life" and "You don't have to be good at something to say, I love that."
