Students researched chick and chicken care in vet science and it was such a popular topic that they added chickens to the program! 🐥 #HSDGoTigers have taken care of these chicks since they were only a day old! They will soon be laying eggs, and when they do students will harvest and use them in food science courses. They are extremely friendly and love to just hang out!

This week's Tiger Staff Shout Out goes to Mr. Marc! Mr. Marc has shown the Tiger Way by continually going out of his way whenever something needs to be done. The PBIS staff are pleased to announce the Hillsboro Elementary students have met their tiger paw goal and will be participating in a “comfy movie day” this Friday, January 24th! 🎥 They’d like students to wear comfy attire such as sweatpants, sweatshirts, robes, pajamas, leggings, t-shirts, etc. The staff will be dressed "down" as well! Thank you for your help in making this a special occasion for these Tigers! #HSDGoTigers

Last week students at the elementary school focused on their Things That Go unit in art class! All classes worked on creating things that go from planes, trains, trucks, construction vehicles and more. Most of their projects connected to books they listened to in class like “Little Blue Truck”, “Goodnight Construction Site”, and “Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel”. These Tigers certainly love art and literacy! #HSDGoTigers

On Friday, January 31, there will be a silent auction held during the Hillsboro vs. Cashton boys basketball game as a fundraiser for Julie Fry-Erickson. As some of you might know, Julie was diagnosed with cancer in September and is fighting her way through recovery with her family. Any donations would be greatly appreciated - you can call/text Alexis Peterson with any questions at 608-604-2018. Auction items can be dropped off at the Hillsboro High School office and there are also t-shirt order forms available if you're interested. #HSDGoTigers

Students now have access to a Silhoutte electronic cutting tool and a Glowforge 3-D Laser Printer in the Makerspace! One of our talented freshman made this special piece of art using a combination of the two machines! #HSDGoTigers #TigerProud

Cam Huntley was announced as the WON80 ”Sport of the Game” athlete on Jan. 16! Cam was chosen by the Necedah athletes for this prestigious award by wrestling tough and showing great sportsmanship. Congrats to Cam and the Hillsboro wrestling team! Make sure to come watch the Hillsboro Wrestling team at the Tiger Invite on January 25, wrestling starts at 10am! #HSDGoTigers

This week's Tiger Staff Shout Out goes to Rose Briskey! Rose has shown the Tiger Way by working hard to learn the names of all of the students in our hallways, ECE and 3-5. She greets each student that comes by in the morning, making sure to ask how they are doing. She has learned their schedules and ensures everyone has a chance to grab their breakfast, even those who are rushing in after 8:05. We are so lucky to have you work here, Rose! #HSDGoTigers #TigerProud
